Handicare 1000 Fault Codes
The 1000 uses the same codes as the 950 above, with one important difference — codes 3, 4, 5 and 6 are reversed depending on whether your rail is fitted on the left or right side of the staircase.
If your rail is on the left side of the stairs:
Code 3 = Top track limit
Code 4 = Top safety edge
Code 5 = Bottom track limit
Code 6 = Bottom safety edge
If your rail is on the right side of the stairs:
Code 3 = Bottom track limit
Code 4 = Bottom safety edge
Code 5 = Top track limit
Code 6 = Top safety edge
For all other codes, refer to the 950 section above — they are identical.

Before You Call — Quick Checks
These resolve a lot of faults before an engineer is needed:
Is the key switch turned to ON?
Is the emergency stop button released?
Is the seat fully swivelled forward to the drive position?
Are both armrests fully lowered? (1100 only)
Is the charger plugged in with the socket switched on?
Have you tried a reset? Turn the main switch off for 10 seconds, then back on.
If none of these clear the fault, give us a call on 0208 936 3060 and we'll get an engineer out to you.
